MUDRAS FOR HEALING
As our body is made up of five elements.
1.FIRE represented by the thumb.
2.AIR represnted by the index finger.
3.ETHER represented by the middle finger.
4.EARTH represnted by the ring finger.
5.WATER represented by the little finger.
All these elements are present in certain propotions in our body. When there is an imbalance in any of these elements we fall ill.MUDRAS learnt from shastras and ancient treatises teaches us that hands have their own power and this science of mudras involving movement and postures of hands are powerfull enough to transform and heal one's life and body.Any illness to the body is due to the imbalance of certain elements in the body,which can be rectified with the practise of mudras for that particular purpose.MUDRAS can help the body in emotional, physical health and help in the prosperity and happiness of ones's life.
These MUDRAS have no adverse effects on the body,nor do they generate excess energy through a certain mudra causing you imbalance.
Notice to those practising MUDRAS .Mudras are not intended to replace medicines prescribed by medical practitoners.The person is advised not to stop their medication as MUDRAS would only compliment in their healing. Mudras are not substitutes to medicines.
MUDRAS bring about improvement in our body through the rectification of certain elements defecient in our body.They produce energy peace and happiness for the body.MUDRAS also mould emotional aspects of the person.It has been seen and heard that many people have cured themselves through regular practise of hand MUDRAS. MUDRAS prevent negativities from harming the body and bring about fundamental revision.
MUDRAS are also used in prayers they bring about cosmic awakening.
If not practised religously and regularly for the prescribed time you may not achieve the desired results. As through mudras the mind heals the body.the mind will heal slowly but surely. you will experience holistic changes as the mind heals the body.
Not to be practised while walking and eating.
This mudra helps in asthma attacks and can be done for a few minutes till the breathing calms down. Duration 5 mins, 5 times a day.
This mudra helps in allergies.duration 15 minutes 3 times a day.
this mudra helps in detoxification of all mucus and toxins in the body.
duration .15 mins. 3 times a day.
This mudra is to be placed in front of the chest.Clasping both hands exhale while pulling the hands apart and inhale on release.this is to be done six times.It strenghtens the heart muscles and opens the bronchial tubes.It helps the anahata (heart ) chakra and builds confidence.
This mudra give s you the power of the AIR element. In this position the palms should be facing inwards.Moving your hands in this position from the swadisthana Chakra to the manipura chakra and the anahata chakra upwards and keeping them in each position for a minute or so.
It helps in the circulation of blood,and removes body exhaustion.It increases the intution of the person and also enables contact with the spirit world.
The tip of the index finger and the thumb are joined together.The palm facing upwards resembles the recieving pose and the palm facing downwards resembles the giving pose.This mudra calms the body.
It increases the concentration and removes disturbances of thoughts.It is good for students while studing.
All the fingers are joined with the corresponding fingers of the other hand facing upwards. This mudra is good for the brain and helps a person to recollect forgotten studies and information. It instigates the intutive brain .
This Mudra practised everyday will enchant you to laughter.You wil get back your childhood laughter which one has forgotten. Can be practised 3-15 minutes a day sitting down, not to be done while walking.
As the name says ,this is for joint pains.Join the ring finger tip and the tip of the thumb of the right hand.and the left hand join the middle finger and thumb tips.Duaraition 15 minutes 3 times a day.It energises all the joints of the body.
A very powerfull mudra, helps in removing muscular and body stress from the body.Place your hands in this position in front of your swadisthana chakra , on your lap while sitting down, the index fingers pointing downwards towards the ground.It removes all negativities absorbed during the day,especially important for people stayin in big cities as they are in contact with very negative and strainful envirements.It removes tensions stress and negativity. it helps the imune system of the body.
AS the name suggests this helps students in their studies,
A student can recollect what he has learnt faster if studied with this mudra.The tip of the index finger is to be placed in the mid porion of the thumbs upper phallange.
This increases the heat of the body and can used in the winter season.cold and running nose are also cured with this mudra.If the left nostril is blocked with phlegm the left thumb should be kept up standing,if the right nostril is blocked the right thumb should be kept standing and out.This also burns up fat of the body,good in reducing weight. It controls cough and asthama and sinus helps in paralysis.duration 10-20 minutes a day
